I absolutely love the depth and relatability of this article. Plus, it is so universally applicable to so many other situations -- divorce, marriage, having/adopting kids, radically changing careers, becoming an entrepreneur (as previously noted), changing geographic locations, retiring, etc.! As Author/Son, you know that I went through so many of these "Can Make or Break You" life decisions! Some of them took years to recover from, - if ever- financially/emotionally/etc. Others were like wasteland experiences/waiting rooms that led to greater, more profitable, more suitable, opportunities AFTER what seemed like a mini lifetime! SOME changes made by personal choice that were better financially led to imposing ills/disruption on family members/friends/partners! Sadly, coming out ahead financially or even emotionally are not always the perfect change/new life situations that we all seek. "That's Life!"

My career shift 15+ years ago from steady paycheck with one boss to self employed consultant with irregular pay and 20+ bosses (each client wants to be priority #1) wasn't entirely my choice but here we are. Sometimes God has plans for us and they are for our good even when we can't see it. Thankfully, a supportive spouse and healthy emergency fund made it an easier transition.
